THE 15 EMPOWERING PARADIGMS
For Personal Adoption and Social Mainstreaming
1. SYNERGISM IN TOTAL HUMAN DEVELOPMENT redefines human development in terms of full self-actualization of the integrated human as synergy of his/her dynamically interacting dimensions and facets and systems. Human individuality and human community are essentially simultaneous in defining and fully actualizing humanity.
2. HOLISTIC HEALTH CARE AND MEDICINE reestablishes “holistic health care” for the total human as spirit-mind-body synergetically unified, as the only real health care, emphasizes prevention of illnesses than cure, and seeks out effective combinations of widely diverse modalities of diagnosis and treatment.
3. DEEP ECOLOGY AND HARMONY WITH NATURE places the human within a natural harmony instead of above it, and allows human en-richment and longer-term survival from such harmony with nature. Deep Ecology is the appreciation of Nature as existing not merely for human needs.
4..SENSE OF HISTORY AND SENSE OF MISSION covers a minimum necessary amount of details to be remembered,.plus a deeper com- prehension of the flow of the collective storyline, and the moving spirit and ethics of such study make for a holistic, constructive and liberative view of a people’s collective odyssey.
5. CIVICS AND DEMOCRATIC GOVERNANCE promotes in every citizen the needed civic spirit, based on active stakeholdership and consciousness of community synergies. Democratic governance of the entire country can only be based on the dynamic holarchy of strong building blocks in the form of community synergies.
6..CULTURE AS COMMUNITY CREATIVITY respects all human cultures as essentially equal and deserve due respect, as the characteristic blend of beliefs, technologies and celebrations of these in functional forms of aesthetics, as the product of collective creativity of generations of members of the community.
7. LIGHT-SEEKING, LIGHT-SHARING EDUCATION is seeking light as pursuit of enlightenment and not of mere information, as pursuit of wisdom and not of mere knowledge, and the multidirectional sharing of wisdom and knowledge as the basic process of education within and outside the school systems.
8. GENDER SENSITIVITY, EQUALITY AND HARMONY upholds gender equality, to be distinguished from gender identicality which is unnatural and impossible, as a basic stepping stone to the ideal of gender harmony, the resolution of the gender issue that has divided the human population into hostile halves.
9. RECONSTRUCTIVE / RESTORATIVE JUSTICE seeks to develop holistic and effective crime prevention and effective rehabilitation and restitution systems, both involving actively the local communities concerned.
10. ASSOCIATIVE ECONOMICS, SOCIAL CAPITAL AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT promotes mutually-beneficial associations for collective productivity and prosperity, successful enterprises that are broad and popular in ownership, management and operation in the mold of genuine cooperatives, and sees economies of large constituencies and markets as synergies of strong smaller-scale economies.
11. SYNERGETIC LEADERSHIP AND EMPOWERING ORGANIZATIONS uphold the principle of synergizing total persons (spirit-mind-body entities) in the operations of organizations so they can be effective mechanisms for member-empowerment, and reorients leadership styles to effectively facilitate these synergies.
12. APPROPRIATE OR ADAPTIVE TECHNOLOGY promotes user-centered creativity for designing and innovating technologies suited to contexts for application; promotes popular ownership, control and enjoyment of broadly-applied technologies; and promotes harmony with Nature as a requirement for acceptable technologies.
13. MUTUAL ENRICHMENT OF FAMILIES AND FRIENDSHIPS upholds that family solidarity and dynamics, which are permanent but non-choiceful, can be extended to cover very close friendships, while friendship dynamics, made longterm only by such choice, can support more wholesome family ties.
14. HUMAN DIGNITY AND HARMONY: HUMAN RIGHTS AND PEACE upholds the simultaneity of human individuality and human community, both the dignity of every person upheld as human rights, and human harmony achievable only in genuine human community. Human Rights and Peace Movements should synergize.
15. AESTHETICS WITHOUT BOUNDARIES: ‘ART FROM THE HEART’ promotes Synaesthetics, seeking to recognize the creative spirit in every single human being that resonates in appreciation.
